Sshhh! It's all gone quiet
Well the weeks are positively flying by.
3 more weeks and Christmas will have been and gone, pounds will have been gained and a new year will be just peeking around the corner. And then it will be a matter of 4 weeks until our recording of Heroes.
Whilst it may have appeared to have gone very quiet on this front - much like the swan serenely gliding over the water - there is much frantic paddling going on below the surface. We have been very fortunate in that so many talented folks have stepped forward to give the project the necessary expertise and professionalism.
At a recent meeting it was decided that we would record the song on the 24th as planned and then spend a good 6-8 weeks filming the video. It is only when you get to the nitty gritty do you realise how much work and effort is involved in creating a single with accompanying video. I mean, you see Girls Aloud up on the screen and you think ‘I could do that! How hard can that be?” I mean even Robson and Jerome sold a million records and they couldn’t sing and don’t get me started on Bob the Builder or Blobby or or or ... Little do we know.
This project will involve musicians, vocalists, lawyers, licensing experts, CD manufacturers, camera crews, producers, recording technicians, distributors and publishing companies at a very minimum.
Still they say (although I’m not sure who says) that there is little worth achieving without the ‘no pain no gain’ maxim– so we should be in for a pretty tough ride.
If all goes to plan - and why wouldn’t it? – the CD/DVD should be coming to a high street store near you (that’s if there are any left by then) in June.
Still awaiting news on the Clyde Street Bid.
