Fiona Baker

Fiona is a highly experienced archaeologist who founded the archaeological consulting and contracting company Firat Archaeological Services in 1992. A graduate of Durham University she has directed and participated in archaeological projects throughout the UK, Europe, Egypt and the Middle East. She recently provided consultancy services to the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities for a major archive project involving the cataloguing for digitisation of thousands of documents.

Fiona is active in the community and is the Chair of the Friends of Hermitage Park who, working in partnership with Argyll and Bute Council, have secured the current £3.4M rejuvenation of Helensburgh’s town park. She is also a local Community Councillor, has been secretary and chair of Rhu Gala Day, produced the annual pantomime for Helensburgh Theatre Arts Club (Cecil Day Lewis, W.H. Auden and Tom Vaughan are all alumni) for over a decade and is a member and committee member of several local societies. Fiona brings an extensive local network and direct experience of providing entertainment and personal development activities for local youngsters to the Board.
