Heroes Centre Community Open Days - Full Details
Helensburgh Heroes has unveiled its proposals to convert an old Industrial Building into an Arts & Community Entertainment Centre
The property is located at 19 George Street to the east side of Helensburgh’s Town Centre.
The plans, released by the Charity, reveal an Arts & Entertainment Centre – The Heroes Centre – set over three floors. The objective of the Centre is to provide a much needed leisure facility for the community, which is both aspirational and educational in approach, which will boost the local economy.
The Charity’s proposals provide for the following:
• A 2 x Screen Digital Cinema/ Auditorium capable of showing the latest 3D first run movies
• A Helensburgh themed 50s Diner
• Exhibition & Meeting Space
• Arts Loft Space for the advancement of arts/crafts within the area
• Wi-Fi Chill Out Zone & Lounge
And perhaps most importantly, the establishment of a permanent Helensburgh Heroes Hall of Fame, which will celebrate and publicly recognise the achievements of the many local men and women who have, and continue to, contributed significantly to our society. The Charity intends to tell their inspiring stories through displays and memorabilia.
The charity has now reached a critical point in the project’s progress and before embarking on various fund raising and planning tasks, would be delighted to engage with as many local people and interested groups to discuss the proposals.
Two Community Open Days have been planned at the premises , enabling the community to drop in, meet the project team and provide valuable feedback and suggestions – and of course get the opportunity to become inspired by the building’s potential.
